New map and FAQs added

I've posted a geographic map of the planned route made up of many Google maps screen shots. I've also created a FAQs page. You can access both by the pages links above. Be sure to subscribe using the 'enter email' option to the right, too.

Time to get this going

Hello and welcome to the blog for my trip!

I've never written a blog before, nor undertaken a trip of this length. I guess I'll tweak the blog a little as the trip approaches. But for now feel free to subscribe using the 'enter email' box to the right. That way you'll you'll avoid missing out on things as I finish my preparations and get the thing underway.

Of course I'll also be posting things to Facebook. But not all my friends and family are on Facebook, hence I'm setting this up. Plus this is public, so in years to come it'll still exist online amongst the sea of other proud LEJoG blogs.

I want to keep the blog fairly basic. LEJoG takes an enormous amount of organising and planning as it is without having to worry about online things too. To the right you've links about the routes, kit, and GPS posts. I've a feeling during the trip I'll just post a couple of photos a day and an end-of-day write up.

Now back to the trip itself. I agree that for that time (and money) one could just as easily be enjoying a great foreign holiday in guaranteed sun, like most normal people. Rest assured, this thought will cross my mind more and more over the coming weeks! But as the title suggests this is a bit of a dream for me. I've put it off for several years for various reasons, and really want to just give it a go now.

Fingers crossed for no problems along the way and for not too many rainy days!

Thank you in advance for your support.

David Scard.
